
When the municipality of Hollands Kroon was looking for a partner to furnish accommodation for refugees, they launched a tender procedure. “As project coordinator of this project, it was my responsibility to find the right partner who could meet all our requirements. In the end, KeyPro managed to exceed our expectations on several levels.”
For this specific project, the municipality rented an old nursing home, which they transformed into a shelter for Ukrainian refugees. “We hesitated. Should we rent the furniture or buy it? Because it was such a large project, we launched a tender. Several companies submitted proposals, and in the end we chose KeyPro”.

For Judith and her colleagues, there wasn’t really an existing playbook for furnishing refugee shelters. The war in Ukraine was, of course, a new situation. “We had never before, as a municipality, been responsible for furnishing such buildings. And technically, it isn’t even a municipal task. I can imagine you’d otherwise have to drive back and forth to DIY stores or shops a hundred times because you forgot something. A municipality would never take on furnishing an entire building by itself.”
As a furniture rental specialist, KeyPro takes care of furnishing both temporary and permanent shelters. Furniture is not only delivered but also assembled, and appliances are fully installed on-site. In addition, KeyPro provides cleaning services, flooring and window treatments, and even ceiling lights when requested by clients. “We experienced KeyPro as a truly pleasant partner to work with. We could ask them anything, and nothing was ever too much. There was always a solution,” Judith explains. She refers to the curtains, work tables, and TV wall mounts that KeyPro was able to arrange at the very last minute.
Because this project was extremely time-sensitive, it was crucial that both KeyPro and the municipality of Hollands Kroon worked seamlessly together. “We could get in touch very easily. KeyPro was approachable and quick to respond. We always received an answer the very same day.” This close collaboration ensured the project was completed even before the deadlines.
What made Judith most happy was the bold step KeyPro dared to take. They went ahead and placed all orders before the contract was officially signed, simply because time was running out. “This allowed for incredible fast delivery. We were honestly amazed at how quickly everything arrived. That speed was exactly what we needed, and they still managed to have everything arranged within the agreed time. Most of the furniture was already in place a week before the official planning required it. On the very day the contract was signed, everything was ready to be furnished. That was truly impressive.
For many municipalities, it is crucial that these kinds of projects are carried out at short notice. Many families are waiting for a safe and comfortable place to live. “If KeyPro hadn’t delivered, we would have had a real problem. We wouldn’t have been able to house people there”.
The impact of that would have been significant, Judith explains. “It would have affected society on several levels, but most importantly, it would have directly affected these people from Ukraine.”
“If we had to purchase and furnish all that furniture ourselves, it would have cost us a huge amount of time”.
For Judith and her colleagues, it saved an enormous amount of time and effort that they were fully relieved of the process. And that everything was completed before the deadlines. “Working with KeyPro really took a huge borden off our shoulders. If we had been responsible for buying and furnishing all that furniture ourselves, it would have taken us an incredible amount of time.”
